Full screen mode

#1

Hello Anboxers!
I’m the developer leader of http://fairwind.uniparthenope.it/en and I’m trying to run FairWind on Anbox.
It could be great for my application have the data gathering layer working on Linux and powered by SignalK node server (http://signalk.org) while the GUI runs on Android. I’m using Anbox on a UDOOx86 (http://udoo.org) running Ubuntu 17.04.
Is it available a ‘full screen mode’ where the Android container uses the full screen with a single app without the multi-view?
Regards,
Raffaele

Fullscreen for single applications in multi-window mode isn’t yet supported but possible.

What you can do instead is starting the session manager in the so called single window mode.

$ anbox session-manager --single-window

That will force android to render into a single window on your desktop. Please keep in mind you have to stop a running instance of the session manager first.

Thank you so much!
I compiled the source code from github (I’m trying to inspire a couple of students of mine about contribute in Anbox development). I followed the instruction on github successfully with ubuntu 17.04.
Nevertheless:

montella@montella-virtual-machine:~/dev/anbox/build$ anbox session-manager --single-window
[EE 2017-06-21 10:26:19] [session_manager.cpp:135@operator()] Failed to start as either binder or ashmem kernel drivers are not loaded

any suggestion?

You have to load the kernel-drivers:

sudo modprobe ashmem_linux binder_linux

This is a known problem, some people managed to make it work : https://github.com/anbox/anbox/issues/81
